Lesson F Main?

Lesson F -  Prepositions in Time
Everyone knows the people below are climbing ON the letter "F."  That letter is a position on the page. So "on" is in a "pre" position (Aha! - Maybe that is why the word is pre-position.)
F-cliff
If you "go to the store," the store is also a position, and "to" is again a "pre" position.  But there is another way prepositions are used. They also give us a "pre" position in time.
F-timestick
For example, we look at the position in time above, and say it is "after" 0400 hours (or after 1600 hours).  If we said we would be here "at 0400" or "by 0400" or "before 0400" ---then we are now late.

Some times the preposition seems to be missing. We could have it but we leave it out. Sorry, but there is no rule for this. It  is just usage. But there are not too many. Examples would be:
I am coming this Friday.
They left yesterday.
