John must win the race.

Now from here on, we'll tell you the rest of what to watch for, without exercises.

PAST-MUST: The past of must is "had to".
John had to win the race.
(Neg. John didn't have to win the race.)

FUTURE-MUST:
You can say either:
John must win the race tomorrow (must have a time).
or
John will have to win the race.

MAY or ALLOWED TO - (Permission).

PRESENT-MAY-You may drive my car.
Neg.     You are not allowed to drive my car.

PAST-(ALLOWED TO only) - He was not allowed to drive my car.

FUTURE -MAY - She may drive my car Sunday. (Must have time indicator)
or
She will be allowed to drive my car.

The exact rules of these Modal or "helping" verbs are not easy. The usage does have the patterns we have shown, but they are easy to confuse.
